Meet Lori Saroya
My name is Lori Saroya, and I’m running for re-election to the Blaine City Council, Ward 1. As a proud resident of Blaine for 19 years, I have served as the Ward 1 councilmember since January 2023. My husband and I are raising our three children in this community, and we are fully invested in Blaine’s future.
Growing up as the daughter of immigrants in rural Iowa, I learned early on the importance of community, education, and hard work. I moved to Minnesota to attend St. Catherine University and later earned my Juris Doctor from Mitchell Hamline School of Law. Blaine has been my home for almost two decades, and my commitment to this community runs deep.

I first met Saroya after emailing her about a concern I had in Ward 1, where we both live. She invited me to speak at the open forum at a City Council meeting, which I did. After seeing how Saroya asked questions about conflicts of interest and spoke up on behalf of her constituents at the rest of that meeting, I knew I wanted to support her. Since then, I have taken the time (which I don't have much of!) to go door knocking with her multiple times and have witnessed how she interacts with her constituents. She truly cares about them, about their concerns, and about hearing their stories. She connects personally with them and carries that passion for people into the city council chambers...
